Privacy Policy
Brain vs Math ("we", "the site") is built to ask for as little as possible: the games, tools and worksheets all work without you telling us anything about yourself. There is exactly one place where you can choose to give us a personal detail — an optional email signup on the free multiplication pack page — and it is described in full below. This page explains exactly what is and isn't stored when you use the site.
What we store (on your device only)
The site uses your browser's local storage to remember game progress: daily puzzle results, streaks, best scores, worksheet options and your theme preference. This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us, and is deleted if you clear your browser data. There are no accounts, logins or profiles.
What we don't collect
- No accounts, passwords or profiles.
- No names, phone numbers or postal addresses.
- No location data.
- No behavioral profiles built by us.
- The only personal detail we can ever receive is an email address, and only if you type one into the optional signup form described in the next section.
Email signup (optional)
On the free multiplication pack page you can leave your email address to get new free printables and mental-math tips. It is genuinely optional: the same PDF downloads from the direct link on that page without any signup, and nothing else on the site asks for an address.
- What we collect: your email address. Nothing else — we don't ask for your name, your age, or anything about your child.
- Why: to send you occasional emails with new free printable packs and short mental-math tips. We do not sell, rent or trade your address, and we do not use it for advertising or hand it to advertisers.
- Who processes it: the form and the mailing list are run by MailerLite (MailerLite Limited), our email provider. When you submit the form, your address — plus the technical details MailerLite records as proof of consent, such as your IP address and the date and time of signup — is stored on MailerLite's servers rather than ours. Their handling of it is covered by MailerLite's privacy policy. The signup form loads a script from MailerLite, so opening that page contacts their servers even if you never sign up.
- Unsubscribing: every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. It takes effect immediately and we send you nothing further.
- How long we keep it: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Unsubscribing takes your address off the active list; MailerLite keeps a record that you opted out so you aren't accidentally emailed again. You can ask us to delete your address at any time — see Contact below.
Analytics
If enabled, we use privacy-focused, cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count page views in aggregate. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint devices and cannot identify individual visitors.
Advertising
The site may display advertising (such as Google AdSense) to keep everything free. Ad providers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads; where required, you will be shown a consent prompt before any such cookies are set. You can learn how Google uses advertising data and opt out of personalized ads at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and adssettings.google.com. If advertising is not currently visible on the site, no advertising cookies are in use.
Children
The site is suitable for general audiences, including students, but it is not directed at children under 13. Everything a student actually uses — the puzzles, the tools, the worksheets, the free pack download — works without submitting anything at all.
The one exception is the optional email signup above. It is meant for parents, teachers and tutors, and we don't ask for anyone's age, so we cannot rule out that a child might type in an address. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has signed up, tell us (see Contact) and we will delete the address; using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we've sent removes it as well.
Changes
If our practices change (for example, when advertising goes live), this page will be updated first, with a new effective date.
Contact
The quickest way to remove an address from the mailing list is the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we've sent — it works instantly and needs nothing from us. For anything else, including a deletion request from a parent or guardian, open an issue on GitHub. Please don't put the email address itself in a public issue — just tell us what you need.
